Selma Storm Drain Projects

Owner: City of Selma

Civil Engineer: Gateway Engineering, Inc.

Gateway Engineering is responsible for storm drain master planning and design of an expansion to the Shafer Park storm water basin as the first phase of improvement to storm drainage systems throughout the City of Selma.  The City of Selma received an approximately $4 million grant from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to separate their storm drainage systems from Consolidated Irrigation District (CID) facilities.

This project created additional storage and includes a pump sump structure to convert the basin to a peaking pond in a future phase of construction.  The next phase of construction is scheduled for this summer and will include approximately $1.4 million in storm drain system improvements, separating the City from two points of discharge to CID and greatly enhancing drainage in the northwest part of the City.
